Instructions for use of elevator traction steel belt

1. Replacement of elevator steel belt
a. The replacement of elevator steel belts should be carried out in accordance with the regulations of the elevator manufacturer, or at least should meet the equivalent requirements of the strength, quality and design of the steel belts.
b. Elevator steel belts that have been installed and used on other elevators should not be used again.
c. The elevator steel belt should be replaced as a whole set.
d. The same set of elevator steel belts should be new elevator steel belts supplied by the same manufacturer with the same material, grade, structure and size.
2. Replace the elevator steel belt after wear. The elevator steel belt should be replaced when the following conditions occur.
a. Steel cords, strands or steel wires in strands penetrate the coating;
b. The coating is worn and some steel cords are exposed and worn;
c. In addition to the continuous monitoring device for the remaining strength of the steel cords in accordance with the requirements of the elevator manufacturing and installation safety regulations, red iron powder appeared on any part of the elevator steel belt.
d. If an elevator steel belt in the elevator needs to be replaced due to wear, the set of composite steel belts in use should be replaced at the same time.
3. Replace the elevator steel belt after damage
a. The load-bearing steel cords in the elevator steel belt need to be replaced after being damaged by external objects. If only the coating of the elevator steel belt is damaged but the load-bearing steel cords are not damaged or are exposed but not worn, the elevator steel belt does not necessarily need to be replaced at this time.
b. If damage to one of a set of elevator steel belts is discovered during the installation of the elevator or before the elevator is put into service, it may be permitted to replace only the damaged steel belt. In addition, the entire set of elevator steel belts needs to be replaced.
c. All elevator belts (including damaged parts) should not be shortened after initial installation.
d. The tension of the newly replaced elevator steel belt should be checked. If necessary, the tension of the elevator steel belt should be adjusted every half a month after two months of new installation. If the degree of tension cannot remain basically balanced after six months, the entire set of elevator steel belts should be replaced.
e. The fastening devices for replacement elevator belts should be the same as those for other elevator belts in the group.
f. When the elevator steel belt becomes permanently knotted, bent or deformed in any form, the component should be replaced.
4. Replace the elevator steel belt if its remaining strength is insufficient.
When the strength of the load-bearing steel cords of the elevator steel belt reaches the residual strength standard, the elevator steel belt should be replaced. Ensure that the remaining strength of the elevator steel belt when it is replaced is not less than 60% of its rated breaking tension.
