The control cabinet inverters used by Kone Elevator are divided into models: KDL16L and KDL6R. It is an upgraded model of the previous generation V3F16L and V3F16R, with more stable quality. It is mainly used in LCE systems. When the elevator has a machine room, it is installed inside the control cabinet. When the elevator is without a machine room, it is installed in the elevator shaft.

Common Faults (Error Codes) & On-Site Troubleshooting

When the KDL16L encounters an abnormal condition, the following Drive Faults are commonly displayed on the KONE LCE mainboard or keypad:

0101 (Drive Module General Fault)
The most common software/hardware interlock protection fault. Priority should be given to checking whether the traction machine brake opens properly, whether the three-phase output cables have leakage to ground, or whether the internal IGBT module has failed.
0105 (Inverter Overtemperature)
The internal heatsink temperature of the inverter is too high. Focus on checking whether the cooling fan at the bottom of the inverter has stopped or become stuck, and whether dust has accumulated at the control cabinet ventilation openings.
0110 (DC Bus Voltage Fault)
Usually caused by an open charging current-limiting resistor, a damaged rectifier bridge, or dried/aged filter capacitors.
